David Koma - Merit Award Winner S/S10

September 2009 saw Georgian born designer David Koma win the much coveted Vauxhall Fashion Scout Merit Award.  Having graduated in March 2009 with a distinction in MA Fashion from the prestigious Central Saint Martins, his final collection of sculptural, body-conscious dresses embellished with metal tubes and multicoloured chains won the Harrods Design Award and propelled him into the fashion press.

Koma takes inspiration from metal and how it contrasts with the female form - strong and sculptured but at the same time feminine and sexual. The influences of Pierre Cardin can be seen in Koma’s intelligent, architectural designs.  Koma AW 2009/2010 is stocked in Browns Focus, London.
